My poor dad!

My dad fell off a ladder on Saturday. He broke his lower right leg. He broke the top of the tibia (sp? )where it connects with the Patella. It was a very bad break. So bad he was sent to Morgantown. He had surgery on Sunday to put rods into his bones to keep his leg stable. They can't put plates in until the swelling goes down, which will not happen for another 2 to 4 weeks. It will be a total of at least 4 to 5 months of total recovery. If you don't know my dad, he is extremely active. He is always working on his garden or playing with the kids. This will be a hard 5 months so please keep him in your prayers. I know he is strong and he will make it through! I have posted a picture of his leg. If you are grossed out easily you may not want to continue on to the picture.

Trip to the Beach

We went to Ocean City, MD this past week. We went with my family. It was a great vacation! We only went for 4 days which was perfect.

Ella and Max had a great time. They played in the sand and jumped around at the edge of the ocean. They also liked going into the pool at our hotel.

Cyrus on the other hand, wasn't very happy with the

beach.

This is how he spent his time at the beach. He hated the sand.

My New Goal

For those who may not know my past I was a runner in high school. I really enjoy to run but it is hard to get motivated! Thanks to my friend Amber's blog I got an idea of how to train for a 5K. It is www.coolrunning.com . I like to because you start out slow. I adapted it a little by running for 90 seconds and then walking 60 seconds. I've done this for 2 days now. It does work. It helps me get motivated to run up all the hills in Morgantown. My goal is to run the Forest Festival Race in October. I want to blog about this so it will help me hopefully continue with my goal! Time will tell.

The Great Hat Search

Sadly, we lost Cyrus' hat at the Relay for Life. The one that his Mee Maw got him in Mexico. I loved it! It fit perfect and it was sooo cute. Well, I wanted to get him a new one but it is not easy with his BIG head. First, I looked at Walmart... no good. Next, checked a few other places... nothing. Finally I went to Game day. com on the Mileground and found a WVU HAT!!! It is so cute.

Hot summer day

Yesterday I got out the new pools I got from Walmart. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun. Chris and Andy decided to cut down a tree in our yard that was dead so we put the pools out in the back. (Luckily the tree didn't hit our house! I was a little worried but they did it!!)

So Ella had a great time in the pool and then Cyrus woke up. He is getting his molars in so he has been very grumpy lately. He wasn't as thrilled with his pool. Kyle and Rachael (my friend Karin's kids) came over to play so of course Ella was super excited. Rachael loved the little pool. I added some pictures of the kids.
